Message from fu:di founder, Tom

Hey foodies,

I'm Tom, a devoted Keto and low carb enthusiast and the proud founder of fu:di. We’re honoured to have been invited to be the sponsors of this year’s Keto Festival - not because we get to put our name on everything, but because Keto has completely changed my life and I can’t wait to meet you all in person so we can share our experiences together.

As a professional chef by trade, I thought I knew everything there was to know about health, until life took an unexpected turn. I found myself overweight (130kg!), diagnosed as pre-diabetic, and facing the prospect of a lifetime on medication—all before turning 40. That's when Keto entered my life.

Once I got my head around the new diet (eating fat to lose fat sounded a bit strange at first) I dived right in.

In just 3 months, I reversed my diabetes diagnosis. Another 3 months, and I shed 15 kgs. Within a year, another 15 kg. It's been an incredible journey, but I realized I missed the foodie in me — the joy of sharing bowls of pasta and Friday night burgers with my family. I didn’t want food that was just “good for no sugar”. I wanted food that was just damn good!

I started experimenting with everyday recipes — ketchup, bread, burger buns, jams, chutneys, chili sauces, granolas, and even mayo. Suddenly, I was living again — healthy and happy.

Teaming up with my friend and co-founder Ben, whose passion lies in statistics and metabolic health, and combining it with my obsession for flavour, we founded fu:di with a simple ambition — to improve the metabolic health of the world.

I'm so excited about the upcoming festival and can't wait to meet you all. LONDON EVENT SPONSOR - BUCK'N'BIRD 

Hamish and Andrew are the founders. We met while working together and quickly became friends after discovering we had a lot in common. We both loved rugby, we both had Polish wives and we both loved a beer or two.

On our travels we uncovered a whole new way of eating and drinking. Europe created some outstanding meat products and beers. Our background in marketing had us thinking and like most great ideas we stumbled across the idea in the pub. Hamish was a passionate advocate of the low carb Keto Diet and couldn’t eat the ‘Chups’ that Andrew ordered from the bar.

That’s literaly how it started. For over a year we have been developing a recipe to keep both the meat lover and ‘crispionado’ happy.

What’s with the name? The clue is in the rugby ball. Hamish is a die hard South African supporting the Springbok or ‘bucks’ and Andrew is the Kiwi ‘bird’ supporting the All Blacks.
